Week 12A

Today we did another critque are website graphics and colors in illustrator, no code. We broke in groups of three again I received some great feedback and it loooks like this

Week 11B

In class today we each critiqued each others detailed sketches for our websites and it was supposed to show all views mobile, tablet and 1000px.

Week 11A

Today we viewed and critique eachothers wireframes in axure in groups of 3. Next week started sketching how our websites should look with detail and color and that was also due next class. Also for homework A style Prototype was also due next class basically to redesign the example on seesparkbox.com

Week 10B

Today we did a class critique on each students visual inventory. We each broke up in groups of three and helped each students for 15min on how to improve there inventory. After each critque we worked on fixing our feedbacks and improvements and than discussed axure and that we have wireframes due in axure for homework both home and subpage.

Week 10A

Today we discussed Design themes and readings on book. We each went around and discussed something interesting in that chapter in the book. The one thing i really liked was the sketchy design theme for how visually it can be pulled off if a business or organization reflects that type of style. The other half this class we discussed wireframes and had work time on our visual inventory. The homework is this have visual inventory finished.

Week 9B homework

The two touch points I determined for my website for Philly speak was Opportunities  and  Interaction. Philly speak wants to show and provide opportunities for young children and teens to do positive things and to always do the right things. They also want parents and children to interact with people on their community and to help others.

Today we had a lecture on CMS. CMS stands for Content Management Systems and it allows multiple users to collaborate and publish content with ease. There are two types Installed and Hosted systems. Then we looked at some examples on certain websites that were provided such as cushycms.com, simplecms.com and etc.
 The homework over the weekend is to  determine two touch points for our websites and cotinue to work on our visual inventory.

Week 9 Homework

I first started off my Visual Inventory by developing the concept and and theme for my project.

Then the look and feel for my website, which is interaction, community, welcoming, and caring.

Those four subjects thinks best reflects me non profit organization and create it to be successful.

Week 9A

In class we first discussed visual inventory and viewed examples to help create our visual inventory. Following up after that we started working on our inventory and the homework was to have progress on our inventory.

Research and Phone Convo with organization

Philly Speak Non Profit Organization

Phone conversation with Jeff Templeton and he talked the purpose of starting this organization which was because the crime in Philadelphia reached an all time high in 2012. As well as crime not being reported was extremely low because citizens are scared to speak out and neighborhood games or criminals threatens the citizens with they don't like snitching or snitches which creates citizens to second guess about reporting info when it could put their family in danger. Philly speak creates a positive alternative and the empowering of courage to speak out on issues that effect their lives or someone around them. We encourage children to stay in school and the importance of education and how it effects their future. Also to become responsible, productive citizens and to become active in the community.

Week 8B

Today we presented the final home page and sub page for our websites. I received some good feedback from stuff like exploring typefaces for logo, bring more aspects of the first page into the subpage, fixing the margin space and padding between images on sub page and minor changes of it bringing it to responsive. After we each presented we discussed our non profit organization websites we found and talked about which one to do for next project. The organization i chose was Philly SPEAK.

Week 4B

Today we discussed our theme and idea for our visual storyboard. Each row of students got together and critiqued each others storyboard and wrote down feedback to make changes. My visual storyboard reflected and imagery based website style with different ways of showing a photo slideshow for my event. My feedback was to provide a view of typefaces that we may see on website, delete unrelavent photos and fix my color palette. Here is my visual storyboard

Week4A

Today we discussed topics of the readings and shared our thoughts. Next we critiqued each others sketches on our Wireframe Sketch Sheet of our websites as a group. My responses or suggestions were to simply mines and just introduce a photo slideshow as my main page with the addition of a menu bar on top corner. For my sub page they suggested maybe introducing a seating chart for when you buy tickets they can just select the seat they want to sit in. Also talked about maybe switching sub page to my designers instead of tickets because i wanted my website to be photo based and i could create a photo gallery of the designers in an unique way.

Today we learned basic html and css for responsive design. We each watched and typed in the code for learning different aspects of responsive code. Things from scaling of imagery, color, and text.

We discussed the type of event we wanted to do with the class and introduces our thoughts. the class then suggested ideas and ways to improve idea. the suggestions for me was to write a longer subscription of event for time and place and to be more realistic. Also was to make an actual event for several hours more of a day event not jus an hour event. So then I did research on the type of event i wanted to do which then i discovered couture fashion week which its several days where its thousands of fashion designers showcase their clothing in new york and its designers from all over the world and come to showcase. so now im designing an event where it would be a similar several days event of a fashion show with entertainers and performer.

week 2A

We discussed the readings and viewed videos and presentations on responsive web design. we then discussed the first project with our event responsive website. the homework is to find five event website you would like to redesign or make up two events of your own 200 words.
